Guft-a-gu (Gaurav Kapoor In Discussion with Faisal Abbas)

>1.Well tell us about your childhood! how was the support of your parents and relatives?

I was born and have spend my childhood in Peshawar.i was a very naughty boy. My parents n relatives were always there by my side to help me and they have encouraged me a lot in every phase of my life.it was the dream of my father (M.Ashraf Awan) To see me as a Rock Star. So he proved to be very supportive one.

>2.If not a Singer what would you have been ? Well did you ever decided to took up anything else as your Career/Education wise, or got any professional education in any other field, thinking of taking up as a Career etc.

Well if i wouldn't have been a singer, i would have joined the Air Force. But i hadn't got any professional training for this. After 10th standard music became the main goal of my life. I got my self involved in singing n got training from a number of experienced people, one of my best trainer was Kenneth Williams.

>3.How do you find other Pakistani Singers, and what is your take on the Music overall in Pakistan, DO you find it any different from the rest of the world?

According to me Pakistani singers are doing a fantastic job, they have got very good voice quality.so they are famous in many other countries as well. Pakistani music is fabulous,it is a blend of different sounds which makes it very unique and most of all it represents Pakistani Culture.Yes i found it some what different from the rest of world as Pakistani rock & Sufi Rock have explored a new dimension for Rock music lover.

>4. How was your journey frm a Teenage boy to a Singer, Tell us something about it? The hardships and the happy moments! What all you went through to be at a stage you are right now?

One thing I would like to share is that when I was in 6th standard our school organized parents day on which they called a singer who due to some reason couldn't come so on that day I was asked to sing that song and this was my first on stage performance after which the enthusiasm of becoming a singer had born in my heart.

After this the real hardships started.there were many hurdles for me i had to face many problems.but as I had the support of my parents, I faced everything patiently because it was my believe that my interest would take me to the height of success.

The first happy movement was when I gave my first playback in a drama series (Pas-E-Aina).And then I was introduced as a lyricist and Music Director in Pakistani TV Drama Industry. In this way the time passed and I reached the goal for which I had done a lot of hard work.

>5. What is it that you are concentrating right now on to, What is is that you are working on right now, and what are your future plans! Share it with us!

I m concentrating and working nowadays on the lyrics and composition of my 3rd music album.which would soon be released and later on i would be joining Bollywood industry. Inshallah you people would listen me in Bollywood in future.
